A Seven Day Intensive with facilitators KRISTIN FLOOD and MERLE LEVIN

A silent retreat is a moment of purification. The noise and the turbulence of your daily life calms down. A space of peace opens up, where you can rest. You nourish yourself in a new way. To be in silence for several days is a profound inner journey. Something deep within you is touched. Your sensory perception is sharpened. As the daily distractions withdraw, your capacity to listen increases. You may experience spontaneous insights and a special connection to your inner voice. At times, you may even sense a contact with a sacred dimension.

‘A path towards presence, mindfulness and wellbeing’

The silent retreat is held at a beautiful and active monastery in the foothills of the Italian Alps, about an hour from Venice airport. It is the residency of a small group of nuns from The ‘Pie Discepole del Divin Maestro’ order. Their main activity is contemplation, and they pray constantly day and night. Our experience is that the power of their prayers combined with the contemplative atmosphere have an impact on us, being religious or non-religious. To be in silence in a living monastery is therefore a rare opportunity, and can’t be compared to one in a monastery that is no longer active, but transformed into a convention center or a hotel.

It is a deep and enriching, life-experience to be together with others in silence. As you expand your sense of presence, other channels of communication open up. Our days consists of gatherings, teachings, meditations, mindfulness exercises, writing and individual time. Most of the participants are Norwegians, since Kristin Flood is a well known Norwegian author, but all the teachings will be in English.

Accommodation is provided in the conference facility close to the main house, where the rooms are simple, beautiful and clean. Everyone has his or her single room with ensuite bathroom. The Italian, homemade meals, with wine included, are lovingly prepared by the nuns and served in the dining hall in the main house. The monastery grounds have a large, wonderful park with a pilgrims’ path named ‘Via Dolorosa’. There is a beautiful view to the Alps close by.

Kristin Flood, half Norwegian, half Italian, and Merle Levin, South African, are both published authors. They have worked with silence, meditation and personal growth for many years, following important spiritual teachers. Both of them have many years of training in the Diamond Approach Method.

Since 2005 they have organized silent retreats in this beautiful venue in Northern Italy. Through the years they have created an intimate relationship to the little group of nuns who welcome and embraces the participants. The retreat is open for both men and women and the teaching is non-religious.

Total cost for the 7 day retreat: GBP 1,100
Deposit: GBP 200
